Harvey Dent, later known as Two-Face, is a tragic figure in the DC universe. He first appeared in Detective Comics #66 in August 1942.
Originally, Dent was Gotham City's district attorney and a close ally of Batman in the fight against organized crime. He was known for his strong moral compass and dedication to justice, earning him the nickname "Apollo" for his good looks and integrity.
However, Dent's life took a dark turn when a mob boss threw acid at his face during a trial. The attack scarred half of his face beyond recognition. This physical trauma, coupled with the psychological stress of the attack, fractured his mind.
Dent adopted the identity of Two-Face, making decisions based on the flip of a scarred coin. One side is pristine, representing his former life, while the other is marred, representing his monstrous present. Two-Face represents the duality of good and evil, and the tragic consequences of violence and corruption.
